  • Biography

Born in Geneva, Switzerland, Gauche moved to England to study history at Oxford, and after finishing his degree - soon realized that his true passion lay in graphics and art. Going back to school to study at St Martins - he moved through animation and design, soon doing work on music promos for the likes of DJ Vadim, other motion work and a gradual shift towards more illustration work.

Gauche has taken part in a number of shows - including one at Elms Lesters and D&AD New Blood in 2006. His work has also appeared in Gristle magazine, Creative Review and other editorial publications.

Influences are far reaching and varied - including comic artists such as Wally Wood and Lee Elias, Chester Gould, Chris Ware, Daniel Clowes, Charles Burns, Sam Hiti , James Jean and artists such as Rego, Balthus, Alfonse Mucha, Carravagio, Piranesi, Goya, Canaletto... the list goes on and so does Gauche’s quality work!

2008 saw his involvement with the successful London based Nobrow - an independent publishing platform for illustration and the graphic arts.
